1. Fast fashion

2. Reading comprehension. Fast fashion, a danger for the planet

Fast fashion is a term used to describe the fashion industry that produces trendy clothing at a rapid pace with low prices. However, the truth behind fast fashion is not as glamorous as it seems. Fast fashion is causing immense harm to the planet.

If we take a closer look at fast fashion, we will see that it is built on a business model that mainly relies on low-cost labor and materials in developing countries. If companies invested in sustainable production methods and materials, the price of clothing would rise

Additionally, fast fashion is known to create a massive amount of waste. If consumers bought clothes produced sustainably and wore them for a longer period, we would reduce textile waste.

Moreover, suppliers of fast fashion often use synthetic fabrics that do not decompose. Those materials could take up to 200 years to decompose, causing enormous damage to the planet. If companies employed environmentally friendly materials, the damage could be controlled.

Overall, fast fashion has an adverse influence on our planet. If companies considered the environment when making, producing, and selling clothes, it would have a significant impact on the well-being of our planet. It is up to us, as consumers, to pressure companies to develop sustainable production practices and choose ethical clothing. If we start making conscious choices, we can reduce the negative impact of fast fashion on the planet.  So, let's choose sustainability and protect the environment for a better future.

Session 5

1. Uniforms: Pro/cons

2. Reading: Uniforms at school.  Find the mind idea of each paragraph

In recent years, the debate about school uniforms has been a topic of discussion among students, parents, and educators. Some people think that wearing a school uniform is beneficial because it can promote a sense of community and reduce social and economic inequalities. However, others believe that having to wear a uniform can reduce individuality and creativity.

From a practical standpoint, school uniforms can be less expensive and more convenient for families and students don't have to spend time in the morning deciding what to wear. Moreover, uniforms can reduce bullying and  pressure based on clothing and style, because everyone would be dressed more or less the same.

On the other hand, some consider that being forced to conform to a strict dress code can reduce individuality and creativity. Students want to express themselves through their clothes and create their own unique identity. They may feel that wearing a uniform is like being a clone of every other student. I would have felt uncomfortable and out of place if I haven't had the opportunity personalize my appearance.

In conclusion, while school uniforms have benefits, the disadvantages should not be ignored. It is crucial to ensure that students have the freedom to express themselves, while still maintaining a sense of community and safety in schools.
