2. Reading. Types of families

In recent years, the traditional family structure of a mother, father, and children has been changing. Today, there are many different types of families. Some families have two mothers or two fathers. These families are called same-sex couples or gay couples. Other families have only one parent. These families are called single-parent families.

In some families, parents have children from previous relationships. These families are called blended families or stepfamilies. In these families, stepbrothers and stepsisters live together with their stepparents. Some families have adopted children. Adoption is when a child legally becomes a part of a family that is not their birth family.

Families can also come in different sizes. Some families have many children, while others have only one. Some families have no children at all. This is called a childless family.

It is important to remember that all families are different, but they are all important. Families give love and support to each other. No matter what type of family you have, it is special and unique.

In conclusion, society is changing, and so are families. There are many different types of families today, including same-sex couples, single-parent families, blended families, childless families, and families with adopted children. It is important to remember that all families are unique and special, and everyone should be respected for who they are.
